Indie developer XA Studio has released a demo of its latest project, Dino Topia, on Steam – and it looks to offer you the chance to take a trip to a prehistoric park.

Released during Steam Next Fest, the demo is available globally and you can check out the announcement trailer below!

A Roarsome Experience?

The game itself sees you building a prehistoric park in a perilous ancient land by gathering resources and expanding your home base, with the use of a range of new technology you can unlock as it grows.

There’s also a farm you have to maintain, with your dinosaur companions helping you to make sure your crops thrive.

As for the dinosaurs themselves, they’re understandably the main draw, and Dino Topia doesn’t disappoint on that score. 

Dino Master

You can play God and combine the best elements of dinosaurs to create all new ones, with the possibilities almost endless. If you’ve ever dreamt of creating your perfect dino, this demo is one you have to download.

There’s the chance to have adventures with your prehistoric pals too, as there’s a number of dungeons to explore and find rare materials in. As well as jungles and arid deserts to traverse.

There might be new creatures to meet too – although beware, we hear some are friendlier than others…

Something For Everyone

Fans of more casual titles will find much to enjoy in Dino Topia then, but don’t be fooled – the game’s mix of strategy, RPG, and adventure means there’s hidden depths here for those willing to delve further. 

As the team at XA Studio say: “We’re always looking for inspiration, and it can come from anywhere. For us, we looked to when we were growing up and the creativity brought upon by dinosaurs being a part of it! That influence has carried into our adult lives as game developers, giving us the perfect backdrop to create Dino Topia.”
